Going through the holiday movies on the CW to see if there is something festive to watch while I'm putting the lights and decorations on the tree tonight.

9000 holiday movies - many of them involving puppies - all with heartwarming (predictable) plots.

And the ONLY movie with a black man in it is this one

Maybe it's more to do with the CW?

If recall still serves, there's a channel (not the CW) which ought to be starting its annual saturation of Hallmark Christmas season romance movies and, again if recall still serves, those are predictable, perhaps a bit corny or even hackneyed, but they do have black protagonists (who didn't just get released from prison.)

Yikes. I'm typically a sucker for Christmas movies (It's my slight guilty pleasure of predictability around this hectic time of year). I never really thought about the casting, but you're absolutely right. That's gross. I don't know how they decided this was an okay plot. :| I'll have to be more mindful the next time I'm scrolling through what is available.

To be honest, the plot was one of the more interesting ones - it is different from the "big city business woman comes back to small town where she grew up, and falls in love with the small town farmer/florist/police chief she dated in high school briefly"

But it was just SO OBVIOUSLY AWFUL that they chose THAT plot to cast the black guy?
