47)Angel's Blood by Nalini Singh
48)Imager by L.E. Modesitt Jr (L)
I like Mr Modesitt's books - but I do find that in some ways, the main character is always the same person - young, naive about the politics around him, butting his head against authority - but always very politely and not meaning to give offense. He finds that he has some sort of ability, and learns to use it a bit by himself, and then ends up in a training course of some type, where his teachers are cryptic and speak in riddles, while he wonders why they cannot just *tell* him what he's supposed to do. Sometimes he saves the world, ends up killing bad guys and either not being able to take credit or it being too dangerous for him to be known, and usually people try to kill him, but while he gets injured, he kills all the assassins. Oh, and he usually has a girlfriend, but is awkward with relationships and the woman drives the relationship and determines if it exists or not.
The worldbuilding is always very complex, lots of political maneuvering and I do keep buying them, but they do sort of become all the same...
